Not all guidance heals: Choosing Aligned Mentorship in Wellness
Biokinetic | Massage and Somatic Integration | Victoria, BC
“In a world of perfectly polished content, authenticity is revolutionary.”
No one can tell you how to find that, you will know, by following your truth, your reasons, your feelings, your people and places. Even when you don’t know you know, you do, just stop listening to anyone else telling you, and tune into your own resonance. Follow the energy, where energy flows, attention should flow and go.
Anyone making claims they can fix you, they know better for you, you need to change to their ideals, standards, truths, needs to work more on their authenticity, let you find yours. How to not be liked is a great book, we need to first be ok with this on a deep level. Not everyone will resonate with you and that’s awesome, because the ones that are meant to will, and it will be potent alignment, it is your purpose. You must know this going into health and wellness. It’s a saturated industry here on the westcoast. You will thrive not needing to be liked and not coping with the performance pressure of some ideal or comparison.
You are not comparable. Your education, credentials, thoughts, feelings, choices, birth, your everything, you’re you-ness. So don’t do it. Your clients need you, exactly what you are, what you have, it’s needed, it’s wanted. Feel that. When you step into that, you radiate. You radiate that truth, beauty shines bright from within and all will be magnetized to your aura.
Mentorship is not about fitting a client into a mold of your lenses, what you think is right or changing what you think is wrong. Mentorship is about walking beside someone on their own journey of discovery, or being present with what is, what can be, what potential lies within the unseen of the person wanting to build awareness. Allowing them the safety of that presence to find their way.
Sometimes things happen that inspire you to step more fully into yourself. unbeknownst to you, timing, place or person, you are ignited by a catalyst that stirs the embers inside you never knew were simmering, waiting, to light, to light up for you, for others, to warm the energy that was always there, meant to bring life to an idea, a concept or something more.
Big advice, follow your spark, follow what causes motion in the body, let it flow into a space of creativity and expression, bring acknowledgment to the emotion, feel deeply, with awareness, allow the process to unfold in a safe, natural way, get it to flow through to flow out and transform into what it can be.
Here i sit today after feeling that spark was touched, i would not have the inertia to make this post otherwise, so i’m grateful for the ignition, the emotion that found it’s way to speak some of my truth.
Truth. A pillar, a foundation of my practice, a core foundation of my business practice. Further, a foundation of me, of who I am, a value that is essential and embodied in my lifestyle, what I put forth as a person, and a successful business owner within my industry.
So, that being said… when someone else tries to tell you your truth, what you should be doing, and it contradicts the feelings in your gut, you need to listen. To yourself. To your gut, your heart. I think there are toxic mentors that need validation through power, they take empowerment as an authority over others instead of a gentle truth to themselves. I’ve seen it alot in the health and wellness industry, empowerment as an egoic expression, versus a deeper stillness, a grounded knowing. Titles and training are the foundations of their practice, instead of experience and connection. Now this is my blog, it’s my opinion, i’m expressing, I realize as well, these people might mean well, not everyone is going to be my cup of tea energetically, and that’s life, that’s healthy, that’s normal, that’s regulation, that’s listening to me.
In reference to the title, when you are starting your business, yes, having a mentor, a direction, a guide, some focus is vital, it can help you pivot to a niche, it can and will help you get on mark faster and more efficiently. On mark- being comfortable with who you are , what you represent, and your whys. This is an absolute must do for business. I have found, when you meet that person, that potential mentor, branding manager, marketer, web designer, coach.. you will absolutely know with no doubt, they are the one to faciliate the expansion of your vision with you, not against you! They will bring out the best in your business and you! Together you will tailor a business that reminded you why you went into your choosen career in the first place! Its a feeling of total invigoration and relief, to outsource the design elements, the branches of building and navigating business as you , the practitioner, might not be trained to do. That’s part of a mentorship, gently guiding through outsourcing , you may be used to doing everything by yourself, as the business, but that won’t work in the long term for your success and ultimately to thrive at what you do in this field.
Outsource like a leader, it’s a strength to delegate and a sign of a regulated system, to be able to have a group of support. Taking it all on yourself is a sign of nervous system dysregulation.
When we meet people in business that come from a genuine and authentic place, they want to see you thrive, they become part of your team, they are support, they are extensions of your expression, you build each other up with your knowledge, wisdom, practice, and community. Every successful health industry professional I associate with is confident in their own offerings, they never judge another, they are ethical and kind, and follow the lifestyle they condone.
I have learned that keeping the peace with others doesn’t always keep the peace within yourself, you are meant to express in a healthy way. I can express with my writing, art, movement, breath and sound. I express in the release of ions into the ground. I encourage you to feel out the right people to surround yourself with and be ok with doing so, with having professional and personal boundaries within your business. This will come as you get to know your business better, through softly listening to the quiet pulls of what feels right.
🌿 Living the Alignment
Embodying Your True Frequency in Daily Life
We talk a lot about alignment — but what does it actually mean to live it?
It’s not just about making the right choices.
It’s about feeling when your field hums with truth.
It’s about knowing when your system says yes — not just your mind, but your whole being.
And when you’re in that state… people can feel it.
You walk into a room and shift the tone just by existing.
This is the art of living the alignment.
Not as an idea. But as an embodied frequency.
1. Know Your Signature Frequency
You came here encoded with a frequency no one else carries.
Your voice, your energy, your way of seeing the world — it's yours for a reason.
Living aligned means making choices that match your essence, not mimic someone else’s.
Ask yourself often:
“Does this thought or decision reflect the real me, or a version I’m trying to perform?”
When you stop adapting, you start remembering.
2. Recognize When You Leave It
We all disconnect sometimes. It’s part of the process.
But the quicker you recognize the signs, the faster you return.
Look for these:
You’re over-explaining or justifying your truth
You feel drained after interactions
You shrink, mimic, or silence yourself
Your nervous system feels like it's buzzing, bracing, or trying to please
Those are invitations — not failures. Your field is asking you to come home.
3. Recalibrate in Real Time
You don’t need a mountain retreat to realign.
You need a moment. And your breath.
Try this:
Feel your spine
Whisper your name internally: I am here
Imagine your field expanding 3 feet in every direction
Call your energy back from any person or moment where you gave too much
Your frequency knows the way. Just give it space to return.
4. Stop Seeking Belonging. Start Broadcasting It.
When you lead with alignment, you don’t have to ask for permission.
You become the tone setter, not the echo.
Your coherence will either recalibrate others or reveal what doesn’t belong.
And that clarity? That’s protection.
You’re not here to be accepted. You’re here to be remembered.
5. Build Your Life Around the Real You
Alignment isn’t just spiritual.
It’s practical.
What you wear, eat, create, and commit to — all of it shapes your resonance.
Design your life like your soul is watching.
Say no more often.
Say yes when it feels like a full-body invitation.
This is how you turn alignment into architecture.
6. This Is a Practice, Not a Destination
There’s no “perfect alignment” badge waiting for you.
It’s a daily check-in. A choice. A returning.
Sometimes you’ll forget.
Sometimes you’ll bend.
But when you notice, and come back without shame — that’s mastery.
Summary:
Living the alignment means knowing your frequency, noticing when you lose it, and building a life that reflects it. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being present. And choosing, again and again, to stand in your field with grace and power.
Ask yourself today:
“If I lived one fully aligned hour… what would that look and feel like?”
Let that be your compass.
